On July 12, 2024, Friday, Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G were released in India. The Oppo Reno 12 series has been available in China and select global markets in recent months. International versions also have the Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC. In China, the Reno 12 uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition chipset, while the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC powers the Reno 12 Pro.

Oppo promises three years of OS updates and four years of security updates for these models. They feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 394ppi pixel density, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screens support HDR10+ and can reach 1200nits peak brightness outdoors. The Reno 12 Pro’s display has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, while the Reno 12 has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i coating.
Both phones are powered by a custom octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC and come with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.
The camera setup on the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G includes a 50-megapixel primary Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. It also features a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 front camera. The Oppo Reno 12 5G has a similar 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For front images, Oppo Reno 12 Pro has a 32-megapixel front camera.
Both phones come with several AI-integrated features such as AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak. They also offer AI-based camera features like AI Best Face and AI Eraser 2.0.
Oppo Reno 12 Pro has 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Blaster, and Wi-Fi 6. They have an in-display fingerprint sensor and support face unlock. The phones are IP65-rated for dust and water resistance.
The Oppo Reno 12 series packs a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, which can charge the battery from 1% to 100% in just 46 minutes. The Reno 12 Pro 5G measures 161.4×74.7×7.40mm and weighs 180 grams, while the Reno 12 5G measures 161.4×74.1×7.6mm and weighs 177 grams.

The Oppo Reno 12 5G is available in a single variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, priced at Rs 32,999. It will be available for purchase starting July 25. The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G comes in two models with up to 12GB RAM. The starting price for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is Rs 36,999, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version is priced at Rs 40,999.

The company is also offering several discounts on these smartphones. Customers will get up to Rs 4,000 instant cashback on buying the Oppo Reno 12 Pro.
