Terrorists attacked Bus in Reasi, Jammu Kashmir
More than 30 pilgrims were injured, some critically, when the bus driver lost control after being shot, causing the bus to fall into a gorge. Ten empty bullet casings were found at the scene.
The identities of those who died have not been confirmed by the police yet. The Reasi attack happened during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in New Delhi, on 9th June in the evening.
Videos and photos from the scene showed the badly damaged bus with its J&K registration plate torn apart from the fall. Some bodies were also seen nearby.
Authorities think that a well-prepared team from Jaish-e-Mohammad carried out the attack. They’re conducting a big search to find the attackers. Helicopters are also watching the forested area where they might be hiding.
Reasi shares a border with Poonch district in the Pir Panjal region. After the Bhartiya Janta Party-led Union government removed Article 370 on August 5, 2019, attacks on security forces in this region have increased.
