On June 11, 2024, Tuesday, the name of the new chief minister of Odisha was announced in Bhubaneswar. Mohan Charan Majhi, a BJP MLA from Keonjhar and belonging to the Santhal community, will be taking oath as the chief minister on June 12, 2024. He will take oath along with 2 deputies as well.

While the new chief minister of Odisha will take part in the swearing-in ceremony, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will also be present right there. Mohan Charan Majhi, who is 52 years of age, will also have a couple of deputy chief ministers, namely, Prabhati Parida as well as KV Singh Deo. The oath-taking ceremony for the new government will take place at approximately 4:45 PM at Janata Maidan located in Bhubaneswar. Incidentally, the aforementioned Prabhati Parida is going to become the state’s first female deputy chief minister.
According to party sources, Mohan Charan Majhi will pay a visit to the reputed Shree Jagannath Temple situated in Puri at first before the ceremony on Wednesday. We are expecting the Prime Minister to arrive in the capital city of Odisha at approximately 2:30 PM on Wednesday. After landing in Bhubaneswar, Modi will be going to Raj Bhavan directly from the airport.
