Goods Train accident in Punjab: Two train drivers were hurt on Sunday morning, June 2, 2024, when a parked freight train was hit from behind by another train at the Sirhind railway station. A Government Railway Police official reported the incident. Both injured drivers were taken to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital for treatment.

Goods Train accident in Punjab: two loco pilots  injured and hospitalized

Two train drivers were injured on Sunday morning when one freight train collided with another at the Sirhind railway station. According to a Government Railway Police official, the impact caused one of the engines to flip over onto another track, where it struck a passenger train.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, only the drivers are injured, Vikas Kumar and Himanshu Kumar. Vikas Kumar suffered head injuries, while Himanshu Kumar injured his back. Both were taken to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital and later referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for further treatment.

Ratan Lal, from the Government Railway Police (GRP) Sirhind Police Station, informed ANI that they were alerted to the accident around 3:30 am. He stated that they had arrived at the scene, and the injured drivers were admitted to Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib. Ratan Lal confirmed that there were no casualties.

The Ambala-Sirhind railway track is very busy, with many trains using it. The police are investigating the reason for the accident.
