I had completed my schooling from Rairangpur SSD govt. Girls high school. Our school is only 100 meters away from our honorable president’s Residence.
In the year 2000 our honourable president Droupadi Murmu came to our school for a function and prize distribution and here I shared some facts;
Droupadi Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 and she is an Indian politician and former teacher who is serving as the 15th and current president of India from 2022.
She is the first person who belongs to the tribal community and also the second woman after Prativa Patil to hold the office. She is also the youngest person to get the post and the first President born in an independent India.
Before that, she served as the 8th Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021, as a member of the Odisha legislative assembly from Rairangpur assembly from 2000 to 2000, and as Minister of State from 2000 to 2004.
Before entering politics, she worked as a clerk in the State Irrigation and Power Department, and as a teacher in Rairangpur from 1994 to 1997.
Personal Life of Our Honourable President of Draupadi Murmu
Droupadi Murmu was born in a Santali family on 20 June 1958, in Uparbeda village at Rairangpur, Odisha. Her father Biranchi Narayan Tudu was a farmer by profession.
Her father and grandfather were sarpanch of the village and her family called her Puti Tudu.
Her school teacher renamed her Draupadi, and her name was changed several times in the past. Murmu started her schooling at the local primary school in Upar Beda at age five. She was moved to Bhubaneswar for further studies.
She completed her secondary education from Girl’s High School and graduated with a B.A. from Rama Devi Women’s College.
After some time she married Late Shyam Charan Murmu who was a banker, in the year 1980 and they had two sons and a daughter.
Her husband and one son died in a road accident and another son died in mysterious circumstances. Mother and a brother all died in between 7 years, from 2009 to 2015.
She is a follower of Brahma Kumar’s spiritual path. Murmu is inspired by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. She has also admired Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar.
President Draupadi Murmu Early Career
From 1979 to 1983 Murmu worked as a junior assistant at the irrigation department of the Government of Odisha, from 1994 to 1997.
And then she worked as a teacher at the school Sri Aurobindo Integral Education and Research Centre in Rairangpur. Where she taught Hindi, Odia, mathematics, and geography and she never took a full salary at the school.
Political Carrier of Honourable Draupadi Murmu
In the year 1997, Droupadi Murmu was elected as the councilor of the Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat as an independent Candidate from a reserved seat for women.
Then she joined the BJP Party. She won the election from the Rairangpur assembly and she served two terms in the Odisha Assembly between the year 2000 and 2009.
During the BJP and BJD collation government in Odisha, she was the Minister with Independent Charge for Commerce and Transportation.
From 6 March 2000 to 6 August 2002, she implement the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development from 6 August 2002 to 16 May 2004. In 2007.
she received the Nilkanth Award for the Best MLA of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. And In 2009, she lost the Lok Sabha election from Mayurbhanj.
As the BJD and BJP alliance had ended. She was elected to the BJP National Executive in the year of 2013. And she was the district president until 2015.
Presidency of 2nd Woman President of India
On 26 July 2022, On this day Droupadi Murmu took the oath as the 15th President of India.
Which was administered by the 48th Chief Justice of India N.V Ramana in the presence of all former presidents, the vice president, the prime minister, and other respective persons.
She is the first person from India who belongs to tribal communities to be elected president.
She is the youngest and first individual born after India’s independence in 1947 to have been elected as president. Murmu is the second woman president after Pratibha Patil as president.
Murmu addressed the nation for the first time as president on 14 August 2022, the evening of Independence Day. In November 2022, she visited her home state Odisha. After assuming the office of the President to participate in the launch of various programs.
She visited her alma mater and later met schoolchildren along the sideways of the road. And walked two kilometers to give respect to the deities of Puri Jagannath Temple.
In April 2023, she took a historic flight in a Sukhoi fighter jet at Tezpur Air Station in Assam. She is the third president ever to fly in a sortie fighter jet.
She was flown for approximately 30 minutes over the Brahmaputra and Tezapur valleys also covered the Himalayan areas. She described it afterward as a “great experience”.
In May 2023, when the Central visa was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the opposition demanded it to be inaugurated by Murmu as the constitutional head of state, and they boycotted the ceremony.
However later, Murmu said “Prime Minister symbolizes parliament’s trust, and she was very proud and very deeply satisfied with the inauguration.
The Impact of our Honorable President in My Personal life
As I saw her in my childhood Her home is 30 Kilometre away from my home. As her home is situated at Rairangpur and my home is situated at Bisoi and she had no ego and attitude as I saw him in 2000 in my school function and collected the prize from her.
She had a great word at that time with me as I’m a kid that time.
She addressed the school with great words and she inspired us a lot. She had a great soft tone. I never saw her as she spoke with anger or arrogance.
She is so kind and a great president of our Nation. She believed in faith and nonviolence and the greatest personality I have ever met.
